How to Install Car Door Window
In general, to replace a car door window glass, first you need to get to the door window, to do that you need to remove the door panel.
1. The inner door panel is removed. Then the door handle and other inner components using screwdriver are removed. Separate the door panel from the door. There are some wires attached to the door. Simply these wires will be separated from the door panel.
2. Then the weather barrier from the door is removed. This can be done by working around the edges underneath. Do not remove the weather barrier completely. When it’s lifted enough, tape it back. Then the the door handle will be placed back on so that the two bolts that you need to remove can be seen. Those bolts will be removed using ratchet tool.
3. Then the glass is placed inside the window from the outside of the door in a slanted position. The window is engaged to the track by pushing forward. The window is lined up with the inside channels on the inside of the window. Once the window is placed, the glass bolt holes are lined with the bolt holes where they were taken off. Then the bolts are screwed back using the ratchet tool.
4. Finally, the window will be rolled up and down to see if it is working properly. Then the weather barrier, the door panel, and the other door components are placed.
